Annual Business Rate Meeting.
6.00 pm. 11th January 2010. Council Offices. Penns Place. Petersfield
I write to invite you to attend the Council's Annual Business Rates Meeting 2010 at which a briefing will be provided on the Council's Medium Term Finance Strategy (3 years) and specifically on the budget proposals for financial year 2010/11. Your comments and views will be reported to the Council's Cabinet at its meeting in February 2009.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform you about the Council's budget and service developments, in compliance with the Local Government Acts. The Local Government Acts (1989 &2000) place an obligation upon the Council to consult business on its financial and service proposals, especially on any matters that promote the economic development of the area.
The meeting will be chaired by Councillor Ken Moon, Portfolio Holder for Finance. Councillors: David Parkinson (Leader of the Council) and Richard Millard (Portfolio Holder for Economic Development) as well as EHDC Officers will also be present.
An agenda will follow shortly. To help officers prepare for the meeting I would be grateful if you could feedback on any particular matters that you would like to see covered.
